No 3rd person rhetoric, we all know I wrote this, so not to brag, but...
I’ve produced records for hundreds of artists, working in nearly every conceivable genre doing this full time for over half my life.
Now I focus on using the skills I've gathered to help artists find their sound, create mixes that get industry attention and mentoring independent artists and bands. I've built my own space: Blackhill Studios. and am also a mentor for 'The Songwriting Academy' worldwide.
I genuinely want every artist I work with to succeed - it's what I'm most passionate about... (although I do love sitting in a dark room and mixing for hours too!)

To do this I often slave over your project and dive in making it sound perfect for you, your fans and get industry heads turning.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
CAT ELIZA T
Tom is professional and fun to work with. He's also HONEST. He wants to make your music sound as great as you do, he's got a good ear for detail. As a big picture thinker I really appreciate his input and attention.
He also listens well to what I want to create and isn't afraid to try fun/interesting things.
STEVE LOWIS
I spent over a year working on my album with Tom at Blackhill Studios. He is incredibly knowledgeable and great to work with. He spent a huge amount of time perfecting and getting my album sounding the way I wanted it and involved me in the process all the way through
LAURA GREAVES
By far the best experience I've had in a studio. Tom is so passionate and professional that it's always a joy to make music with him.
The studio has amazing equipment and you feel right at home on the comfy sofa surrounded by beautiful guitars and mood lighting!
If you're looking for somewhere to record this is the only place I would recommend.
Killer
Vocals
Ever had one of your songs come back and the vocals sounded muddy/unclear/not how you performed them or lacking? Vocals are something most bedroom producers and even pros struggle to nail but it's something I specialise in. In the past, I've worked for and assisted some of the best vocal producers in the world.

Making a vocalist feel comfortable enough to give the best performance they can while giving them the feedback they need to get the track nailed is something not all producers can do. I also spend a lot of time on the vocals in the mix as they are the main focus for 99% of listeners.

Advice
Unfortunately, our industry is full of people promising the world and studios that record you and charge you for the time without a care, I want to change that!
Having been in the industry most of my life I want to share the knowledge I've gained with the artists I work with. We can also book in a 1-2-1 session where I commonly help with building a solid fan base, branding, finding funding, planning a proper release schedule, general promotion, pr campaigns, social media advice, web/logo design, networking, and general career/industry advice.
Kick-Ass Productions/
mixes
The amount of artists who’ve yet to find their recorded sound, or who haven’t ever been able to translate their live sound to a record is astonishing. To me, it’s key before even firing up the studio to get to know you as an artist and do some pre-production so the production work we do together is killer and the sound you’ve always imagined!

With mixing, I want to make every detail clear in your song while helping to emphasise the message and journey of the song. My final Mix/Masters have been played on Radio 1, Radio 2, Capital, KISS, BBC Introducing Solent/South and have also been synced (featured) on popular TV shows. I won’t let something leave unless it’ll further the Artists I work with careers.

Many people fail to do any pre-production before recording their songs and I've thrown in a few tips on how to get the most out of home recording.
Release Strategy Guide
Many artists record a song and place it on Spotify without any plan, promotion or purpose. I've been teaching this strategy in my meetings for a while now on how to get the most out of your releases.
